Market Feasibility, Shopping Patterns and Demographic Analysis in Support of Retail and Food Service Planning -- Irvine

As part of the ongoing planning effort on the 75,000 acre Irvine Ranch, the consultant provided several studies related to the establishment of purchasing power, current attitudinal preferences toward retail types and food service. These studies resulted in the re-programming of several shopping centers and the re-orientation of the Irvine Company's marketing efforts to large regional and national chains as tenants.
Byte International Site Location Analyses -- Western United States
Client: Byte International
This rapidly expanding computer product retailer challenged the consultant to establish a customer profile and ascertain the most advantageous locations throughout the western United States where the customer profile was most likely to occur. Utilizing both primary and secondary data, the consultant prioritized dozens of markets and established those with the best market potential. The consultant was also retained to locate specific sites, negotiate leases and land values and secure options on several locations.
There is currently a great deal of interest in Entertainment or Multi-plex, Multi-screen theater anchored shopping centers. DMG is working on multiple locations for these projects throughout the United States for several entertainment clients. This is an exciting new concept which is evolving rapidly to meet a growing demand for these highly productive retail developments. Our work has empirically proven the success formulae for this concept. We have also found a number of interesting characteristics of these centers based on over 5,000 intercept interviews among customers.
